To make sure you can get exactly what you want, the 2012 Toyota Tundra is available with three cab styles:
- Double Cab
The 2012 Tundra at Peterson Toyota in Boise is available in your choice of three engines. Regular Cab and Double Cab models start with a 4.0-liter V6 that produces 270 hp and 278 lb/ft of torque. This engine is paired with a five-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i) equipped with Sequential Shift Mode and Uphill/Downhill Shift Logic. There are two available V8 engines, a 4.6-liter i-Force V8 with 310 hp and 327 lb/ft, and a 5.7-liter i-Force V8 with 381 hp and 401 lb/ft of torque. Both i-Force V8 engines are paired with six-speed ECT-i transmissions that feature the Sequential Shift Mode and Uphill/Downhill Shift Logic and, in some models TOW/HAUL mode. Both meet Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle II (ULEV II) emissions certification requirements.
For the 2012 model year Toyota has made it easier than ever to build your “perfect truck”. Toyota has done this by simplifying option packages. Other changes making it simplier would be the standard back-up camera on the Limited and TRD Rock Warrior Packages and the Chrome Package on the Double Car and Crew Max models. With the business owner in mind the Tundra Work Truck is available in the Regular Cab and the Double Cab option. If you need a bit more luxury consider the Platinum Package (on the Tundra CrewMax Limited) which has luxuries such as heated and ventilated front bucket seats, embroidered headrests and seating surfaces trimmed with perforated leather. This package also has power tilt/slide moonrood with sliding sunshade and wood-grain style interior trim.
Perhaps you want your Tundra with a little more off-road performance. The available 4×4 drivetrain in the Tundra is capable of pulling you and your gear to many otherwise inaccessible locations, and for those who need a bit more grunt, Toyota also offers the TRD Rock Warrior Special Edition Package. The package, available on 4×4 models, features an off-road tuned suspension with Bilstein® gas-charged mono-tube shock absorbers, and BFGoodrich® All-Terrain T/A KO tires mounted on 17-inch TRD Rock Warrior forged alloy wheels. Available in Radiant Red, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Super White or Black exterior colors with color-keyed front bumper and grille surround, the TRD Rock Warrior is also equipped with foglamps and privacy glass.
