New to the Zoo

Maybe the highlight of September was welcoming our new giraffe, Tafari! He is two years old, and joins Jabari, who is almost 8. His name means “he who inspires awe” in Amharic. Tafari came from the Milwaukee County Zoo, arriving in Boise after a more than 50 drive in a specialized trailer. He settled right into his new barn, and after his standard quarantine period, he’ll be able to explore his new yard. In the meantime, you can get up close with him through the large window in the giraffe barn.

Tafari and Jabari are getting along great! Stop by today to meet them.
